Looking for Interns

Ah, the glamorous world of unpaid internships! It may seem unattractive at the time, but these are invaluable in the grad scheme of things… It’s not easy getting your foot in the door as a writer, artist or editor, but Beatdom has been watching its staff drift on to better things since its inception in 2007.

As a Beatdom intern you will help run our non-profit company along with all our unpaid staff (even the editor doesn’t get paid) with the added benefit of being mentored by the more experienced members of our team.

For more information on this opportunity, please see our website: http://www.beatdom.com/interns.htm

  1. I have to say, this is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who wants to learn. When I started in the rotten game of freelancing 22 years ago, I’d have killed for a chance to work alongside someone with David’s passion and critical eye.

    • I’m sure there are a dozen or more quotes from HST on the subject, but yeah, it’s a rough game and you’ve got to take the chances. A good editor will give them when he can, but there aren’t many of us.

      I just hope this helps shape a few good editors tand writers o go on and push the world of literature a little further.

  2. hey, do you mind if i post my story from issue six to the bob dylan website, http://www.expectingrain.com?
    it is a good, international site and i bet they would post it.
    i wouldn’t send it to them without permission from Beatdom, though.
    it would put Beatdom on a site that thousands view daily…
    let me know.

  3. Michael, of course you can. I don’t explain all the details sometimes, but with Beatdom we want the first rights… after that you can do with your work what you wish. YOU hold the copyright.

    I’m sure this will be great publicity, too.
